Luther (2-2, 0-1) at Millwood (4-0, 0-0)
When:
7 p.m. tonight
Where: Leodies Robinson Field

Last week: Luther was on the wrong end of a 48-28 decision agianst Crooked Oak. Millwood closed out the non-district schedule with a rout of Alva on the road.

Why Luther could win: The Lions have talent on offense, scoring at least 28 points every week so far. If they have to — and they probably will — they can try to keep up with Millwood’s high-scoring offense. But it won’t be easy. Luther might get some help if Millwood is looking ahead to the big showdown with Jones in Week 6.

Why Millwood could win: This just seems to be a team on a mission, scoring on anyone, making big defensive plays when they need them. After getting the extra non-district game out of the way, every game the rest of the season has meaning. QB Kevonte Richardson has been extremely sharp so far, running the offense extremely well.

Key matchup: Luther defense vs. the big play. Luther has allowed 40-plus points in two straight weeks, and 21 the week before that. You can’t survive against Millwood if you let their offense dictate the game. If Luther wants to pull off the upset, it’ll take some big defensive stops.

The pick: Millwood 48, Luther 28. Hard to pick against the Falcons right now.
