It’s here!!!

No. 2 Guthrie (5-1) at No. 3 Carl Albert (5-1)
When
: 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Jim Harris Stadium, CA
TV: Cox 3

Guthrie
Why the Bluejays can win
: Because they remember last year and frankly, they might be the better team this year. Luke Davis does all the little things on offense. Landry Chappell is a star on defense and Richard Brothers is a star in the making on defense.

Quote:

This won’t be like last year, I guarantee you that. We’re older and more mature. You hear the name Carl Albert, and it’s time to go to work.” – Kentrell Brothers

Carl Albert (L – Booker T.; W – Ardmore; W – Duncan; W – Western Heights; W – El Reno; W – Southeast)
Why the Titans can win: Because the last couple of weeks were crucial in terms of the passing success QB Taylor Hawkins had. You add that to a great running attack and the ‘Death Squad’ defense, and that’s a recipe for success every single time.

Quote:

Losing Dillan really hurt, but Taylor’s been great. We have all the confidence in him and know he will get the job done.” – senior Dwight Dobbins

Key matchup: CA running game vs. Guthrie LBs. If Kenton Whittington, Darvonta Knight and company get on track against Chappell, Brothers and John Clark, could be a long night for the Jays. For CA, Titans secondary should get a workout tonight with the improved Bryan Dutton at QB for Guthrie.

The pick: Carl Albert 30, Guthrie 29. No surprise here as it’s my LOCK. Cannot wait for the atmosphere and intensity of this game. Should be a memorable one.

Boneman’s CA prediction record: 6-0.
