Carl Albert (6-2) at Deer Creek (6-2)
When
: 7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Deer Creek Stadium

Carl Albert (L-BTWashington; W- Ardmore; W – Duncan; W – Western Heights; W – El Reno; W – Southeast; L – Guthrie; W – Ada)
Why the Titans can win: Because their character and heart were tested last week, and they passed with flying colors. This is a team bred for November, and they’re ready to make that final push. Deer Creek has not seen a rushing attack like this one.

Deer Creek (W – Piedmont; L – Shawnee; W – Tecumseh; L – Guthrie; W – Southeast; W – El Reno; W – Western Heights; W – Noble)
Why the Antlers can win: Because the last four weeks have given Deer Creek the chance to find out exactly what is their best recipe for success. Namely a power running game, sprinkled in with some timely passing and a defense that flocks to the ball.

Quote:

Coach Gary Rose does a great job with his program, and he’s built something there that we’re trying to duplicate here at Deer Creek.” – coach Grant Gower

Key matchup: Deer Creek QBs vs. Death Squad. I just like saying Death Squad. No, seriously, how will Alex Christensen and Joel Blumenthal hold up against the best defense they’ve seen in a month? And if the Antlers need a big throw, is it Christensen or Blumenthal who gets the call?

The pick: Carl Albert 29, Deer Creek 19. Sounding like a coach here, but turnovers are going to be extremely important in deciding this one. I like the CA rushing attack to ice this sucker in the fourth quarter.
