Putnam North (2-6, 1-4) at Moore Lions (0-8, 0-5)
When:
7:30 p.m. Friday
Where: Moore Stadium

Why the Panthers can win: This is a team hungry for a victory. The run game looked much better last week and the passing game has been at its best this month. Defensively, there have been some struggles, but overall, they’re solid.

Why the Lions can win: The Rushin’ Russian. The last two weeks, Vova Razryvin has taken his game to another level. In the air and on the ground, Razryvin has gone from the Lions’ primary offensive weapon to one of the best options in the Class 6A-1 district. There may be nothing Razryvin can’t do this week, but more than anything, he has to make sure he doesn’t hurt his team.

Quote: “We’re an 0-8 football team but we’ve competed in pretty much every game this year. We’ve got to get over that hump.” — Moore coach Scott Myers said.

Scott’s key matchup: Dre Holman vs. Moore front seven. Holman finally busted out last week, gong for 189 yards in the loss to Lawton Ike. Last season, he got stronger with each game he played, and it looks like this might be the same story. If he moves the ball on the ground, the passing attack of Jace James, Covin Conrady and the rest becomes far more effective.
