The Douglass Trojans made a strong run to reach the championship game of the Bass Pro Tournament of Champions in Springfield, Mo., but the title game didn’t go their way.

The Trojans were handed their fourth loss of the season — all against out-of-state competition — in an 87-62 loss to Oak Ridge Military Academy, out of North Carolina.

Oak Ridge got 29 points from guard Chris Jones, who is headed to Tennessee.

Douglass’ Dorrian Williams gave his future home fans a good show with a team-high 16 points. Williams has signed with Missouri State, which hosted the three-day tournament at their arena. DeVonte Smith scored 11 for the Trojans in their lowest scoring game of the season.

The Trojans (11-4) reached the finals with a 78-62 win over Nixa, Mo., Friday night. Stephen Clark scored 26 in the semifinal rout, with Ramond Jenkins and Dorrian Williams adding 14 apiece, and Dominique Manuel chipping in 12.

Douglass fans interested in catching the replay of Saturday’s title game, it will be televised at 8:30 p.m. Monday night by CBS College Sports, Cox Digital channel 249.
