The Showdown: Midwest City vs. Edmond Memorial
It’s finally here. I had this same type of anticipation before the Edmond Memorial and Edmond Santa Fe games three weeks ago (and those totally lived up to the billing). Now here we go again with Memorial and Midwest City.
And really, because this game has been postponed by two weeks, it’s just added to the drama. The teams have been dominant and this about as big a high-profile regular season matchup as you’re going to find. For both the boys and girls.
So if you’re free Thursday night, head on down to Memorial. You know I’ll be there. It will be among my last games before state with swimming and wrestling hitting their championship weekends.

The stars will be out in this one. In this corner, you have the Bomber twins Trez and Trael Colbert. In the other corner, it’s the Woodward brothers (James and Jordan) of Memorial.
Oh yea, and you’ll also have Obi Emegano for Memorial, who has signed with Western Illinois. As for Midwest City, I really like how T.J. Noel and Cornell Neal have developed. Coach Dewayne Bradley is happy, too, mentioning his quest to find supporting players to the Colberts and Greg Austin is over.
“We don’t have one standout in the post, but as a collective group, I really like what we have,” Bradley said. “We’re definitely more than just those three.”
And so is Memorial. I’m thinkin’ this might be a good time for Jared Jobe to re-introduce himself to the basketball world. I really like Jobe’s game and think he is going to get some good looks.
The first showdown (Scott Wright was there) saw Memorial win at Midwest City in overtime. Jordan Woodard came up huge down the stretch. What is going to happen this time around?
