Norman's Donovan Roberts commits to Arkansas
Norman running back Donovan Roberts said he had no preference of when he was going to commit. He said he would know when it’s time.
His time came Wednesday as the Tigers star running back committed to Arkansas.
“This was a tough decision, but I did a lot of talking with my family and just trying to figure out what would be the best fit for me,” Roberts said. “I can’t wait to be a Hog.”
Roberts recently listed a top four of Michigan, Pittsburgh, Arkansas and Arizona. He also had offers from Iowa State, Kansas State, Tulsa and Indiana.
Roberts was making his second visit to Arkansas on Wednesday. He said he enjoyed his first visit, but he wanted to get his mother’s opinion. His parents made the trip with him this time around and everybody was in agreement.
Roberts became one of the top running backs in the state last season in helping turn around the Tigers program. Roberts rushed for more than 2,000 yards in helping Norman back to the playoffs.
“It’s a load off my shoulders and this means my senior year starts now,” Roberts said. “It’s time to get ready and do whatever I have to do to help the team do something special.”
Roberts is ranked No. 5 on The Oklahoman’s Super 30 for the class of 2012.
