Girls basketball state tournament semifinal picks

Here are my predictions for the Class 2A-6A semifinals, being played around the Oklahoma City and Tulsa areas.

EDMOND SANTA FE VS. MIDWEST CITY, NOON

Jason’s pick: Edmond Santa Fe

The Bombers are a tough team, and it’s too bad this can’t be the championship game. But I think the Wolves will be just too tough.

EDMOND MEMORIAL VS. SAPULPA, 7:30 P.M.

Jason’s pick: Edmond Memorial

The Bulldogs are hot right now. We get a third Edlam matchup between Santa Fe and Memorial for the 6A championship.

SHAWNEE VS. CARL ALBERT, 10:30 A.M.

Jason’s pick: Shawnee

Carl Albert is a good team, but Shawnee is a great team. Kelsee Grovey, Taylor Cooper and the Wolves pick up another win on their way to the state title.

TULSA EAST CENTRAL VS. MCALESTER, 6 P.M.

Jason’s pick: Tulsa East Central

Cardinals are too athletic, talented and experienced to lose this one.
