ESF's Harding, Sequoyah-Tahlequah's Scott named to national team

Edmond Santa Fe defensive back Khari Harding and Sequoyah Tahlequah quarterback Brayden Scott were among the 45 players from around the country named to USA Football’s Under-19 team for the upcoming International Federation of American Football U-19 World Championship in Austin, Texas.

Oklahoma State OL commit Juck Kurzu is also on the roster.

The eight-team tournament runs from June 30 to July 7 at Austin’er Burger Stadium.

Other participating national teams include American Samoa, Austria, Canada, France, Japan, Panama and Sweden. The U.S. won the inaugural championship in 2009 in Canton, Ohio and are the No. 1 seed this year.

The Americans open against American Samoa at 8 p.m. June 30.

The gold medal game will be played at 8 p.m. July 7.
