Heritage Hall lineman Markus Wakefield, an NCAA Division I recruit, suffered what is thought to be a broken thumb during Thursday’s scrimmage at Oklahoma Christian School.

Senior defensive end and tight end Quintaz Struble sat out the scrimmage after spraining his ankle last week.

Both are expected to be fine for next week’s opener against rival Casady.

Wakefield hurt the thumb on the Chargers’ first offensive series and sat out the rest of the scrimmage.

“Definitely,” he said when asked if he would play next week. “It’s my last Casady game.”
