This is where things get a bit more tricky because of the added round, which means a better chance top teams meet before the championship game or semifinals. Because of that Minco, which was beat out in the third round by eventual state champion Wayne, stays at No. 3 behind runner-up Woodland. Minco was the only team to beat Wayne this season and pushed the Bulldogs again in a 47-40 loss. Likewise Wynnewood remains at No. 4. The Savages pushed Wayne to the brink (on the road) in a 47-42 loss on Oct. 28. Wynnewood’s only other loss came to Woodland, who edged Wynnewood 18-12 in the second round. One of the other smeifinalists, Thomas, drops from No. 2 to No. 5. Thomas’ only loss was 32-7 to Woodland in the semifinals but the Terriers barely put away their first two playoff opponents, Crescent and Hollis. The other semifinal loser, Carnegie, dropped three games during the regular season and had a favorable draw. They do come from unranked to No. 7, jumping Foyil and Texhoma, two teams they beat in the playoffs.
