After five seasons, Ralph Nigro has resigned as Yukon’s boys basketball coach. He informed the team of his decision Monday afternoon.

“Ralph was really dedicated, just a tireless worker who put his heart and soul into trying to improve our program the last five years,” Yukon athletic director David Fisher said. “It wasn’t an easy task when you’re playing in the toughest conference in the state. But he did everything with high energy and integrity.”

The Millers were 2-18 this season, their worst record in Nigro’s five years. The season ended last Friday with a playoff loss at third-ranked Putnam City.

Fisher said the search process for Yukon’s next coach will begin after the state tournament, which concludes March 9.
