Nigro resigns as boys basketball coach at Yukon

Hey Guru 53, Yes, Yukon has been good at basketball. Not just good but Great. In the mid to late 70's Yukon won 2 State Championships, 1974 (next to large school class) and 1979 (large school class) under the leadership of Coach Leroy Estes. They began a state tournament run in 1973 and reached the state tournament in each year except 1977 and that year had Randy Wright named player of the year in Oklahoma. Many players from that era were all - staters and went on to play college ball. It disappoints me that Yukon does not have the basketball program that it once had. I hope the prejudice claims aren't true. I've found that most of the time when that card comes up, it's more about personality conflict and players refusing to follow coaching. In either case, it's disappointing.

@ Wayne - you must be an El Reno 8th grader with your poor spelling and grammar. Your racist comment about minorities is dead wrong. Sure, Yukon is predominantly white. I see nothing wrong with that. Those who DO have a problem with that can just stop MOVING into the district. Are you trying to spell the word "prejudice" with your weak "pretiogus" word? I spoke with the AD recently and there has been MORE transfers INTO Yukon than they've lost and in fact, they aren't taking transfers anymore except on an emergency basis.
