Former Edmond Santa Fe standout Maddie Martin, The Oklahoman‘s Big All-City Player of the Year in 2011, was named the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Pitcher of the Week earlier this week.

Martin, a freshman at Maryland, threw four complete games in the week, helping the Terrapins go 5-2.

She faced 109 batters, striking out 23 and giving up just four earned runs.

Against Oklahoma State, Martin threw six innings without allowing an earned run. She also picked up the win against Hampton and threw seven shutout inning against Valparaiso.

Martin limited hitters to a .223 average against her and finished the week with a 1.40 ERA. For the season, Martin is 4-7 witha  3.84 ERA and 38 strikeouts.
