Picks: Week 3
My apologies. I didn’t get these posted yesterday and one of the games was Westmoore-Norman North. I received these picks before that game was played, though, and my own picks were in Thursday’s paper.
Things weren’t quite as easy for the group last week as everyone lost at least two games.
Scott Wright: 18-2 (2-0)
Jacob Unruh: 17-3 (2-0)
Ryan Aber: 16-4 (1-1)
Jason Kersey: 15-5 (1-0)
And now for this week’s picks:
SCOTT WRIGHT
Tulsa Union 17, Broken Arrow 14
Edmond Santa Fe 42, Edmond North 31
Jenks 30, Owasso 24
Tulsa East Central 21, Tulsa Washington 14
Duncan 20, Carl Albert 16
Kingfisher 48, Hennessey 28
Christian Heritage 22, Lincoln Christian 17
Norman North 23, Westmoore 20
Shattuck 55, Forgan 49
Stillwater 38, Mustang 35
Lock of the Week: Tulsa East Central over Tulsa Washington. Having seen Booker T. up close in Week 1, I know how talented this team is, but I think East Central puts too many defensive weapons on the field for the Hornets this week.
JACOB UNRUH
Tulsa Union 21, Broken Arrow 18
Edmond Santa Fe 27, Edmond North 14
Jenks 35, Owasso 21
Tulsa East Central 21, Tulsa Washington 20
Carl Albert 24, Duncan 17
Kingfisher 31, Hennessey 21
Christian Heritage 35, Lincoln Christian 28
Norman North 21, Westmoore 17
Shattuck 48, Forgan 42
Stillwater 24, Mustang 21
Lock of the week: Tulsa Union over Broken Arrow. I know Broken Arrow nearly pulled off the upset in last year’s Class 6A title game. The Tigers could even do that Friday night, but I am going with Tulsa Union in a nail-biter. Broken Arrow is without top running back Devon Thomas indefinitely, which is a concern against Tulsa Union.
