I love Thursday night football, especially since there usually isn’t any Tuesday or Wednesday night football. Tonight, we’re back on the field, and that’s a good thing.

I especially love meaningful Thursday night football, and that’s what we’ve got at Putnam City Stadium at 7 tonight.

Putnam City North hosts Moore in a game that is big for both teams, and Point No. 1 will tell you why:

Three Points

1. Season momentum. These two teams have had some rough spots in the first four games, but both could benefit greatly from a win tonight simply because of the need for a good boost going forward. Moore got its first win of the season last week, and has another potential win at home against Lawton Eisenhower next week. If they could snag a win tonight, it should give them some serious good vibes heading into the Ike game, and they could turn this into a three-game win streak with Yukon waiting in Week 7. Then you’re talking about playoff potential. PC North looks like it has the talent to be in the postseason mix already, but its schedule sets up a little differently. They need a win tonight to go into next week’s game at Midwest City with a good mindset. Then the Panthers have a stretch of games late in the season to pick up some more wins and stay in the playoff battle.
