Picks/Results: Playoff Week 2

by Ryan Aber Modified: May 13, 2013 at 4:44 pm •  Published: November 17, 2012

I didn’t get to post this yesterday but here are our picks for the week and the results after last night’s games. The standings are updated to reflect the week:

Ryan: 7-3, 1-0 (90-30, 9-2)
Jacob: 7-3, 1-0 (88-32, 8-4)
Scott: 6-4, 0-1 (82-38, 9-3)
Jason: 8-2, 0-1 (75-35, 6-5)

RYAN ABER (7-3, 1-0)
Cascia Hall 14, Clinton 7
Tulsa Union 35, Edmond Santa Fe 31
Carl Albert 20, Claremore 14
Davis 14, Millwood 9
Wayne 22, Kiefer 20
Kingfisher 20, Tuttle 14
Wetumka 38, Pond Creek-Hunter 18
Broken Arrow 24, Norman North 21
Tulsa East Central 28, Guthrie 14
McGuinness 28, Tulsa Kelley 20
Lock of the week: McGuinness over Tulsa Kelley. The Comets are much improved (and in better health) since the first meeting between the teams but the Irish will be too much as 5A-2 picks up yet another playoff win.

JACOB UNRUH
Bishop McGuinness 24, Tulsa Kelley 17
Cascia Hall 21, Clinton 17
Tulsa Union 35, Edmond Santa Fe 31
Carl Albert 20, Claremore 14
Davis 14, Millwood 7
Wayne 30, Kiefer 22
Kingfisher 28, Tuttle 20
Wetumka 32, Pond Creek-Hunter 16
Broken Arrow 21, Norman North 20
Tulsa East Central 35, Guthrie 14
Lock of the week: Davis over Millwood. Davis runs the Wishbone to near perfection, and when it’s ran like that it’s extremely difficult to stop.

SCOTT WRIGHT
Cascia Hall 27, Clinton 21
Tulsa Union 28, Edmond Santa Fe 27
Carl Albert 20, Claremore 17
Millwood 19, Davis 14
Wayne 48, Kiefer 44
Kingfisher 21, Tuttle 20
Wetumka 45, Pond Creek-Hunter 38
Broken Arrow 30, Norman North 27
Tulsa East Central 33, Guthrie 28
McGuinness 28, Tulsa Kelley 24
Lock of the Week: Millwood over Davis. This Millwood team knows how to handle the wishbone, considering most of the defense played in the win at Davis last year. And they’ve proven this year that they can stop the power run game. It’ll be closer than last year when the Falcons were up three TDs in the fourth quarter, but Millwood will move on.

Bishop McGuinness 27, Tulsa Kelley 20
Cascia Hall 23, Clinton 17
Edmond Santa Fe 42, Tulsa Union 38

Wayne 20, Kiefer 14
Tuttle 17, Kingfisher 14
Wetumka 35, Pond Creek-Hunter 31
Broken Arrow 27, Norman North 23
Guthrie 21, Tulsa East Central 20
Lock of the week: McGuinness
