Fan poll: Vote for the High School Football Player of the Week
The last Player of the Week fan poll of the season might be the toughest of all for voters.
Three incredible performances that led to state championships are up for consideration on the fan poll, which is live at NewsOK.com/Varsity.
Voting ends at 4 p.m. Wednesday and the results of the poll will appear in Thursday’s Oklahoman.
Here are the candidates:
Austin Brooks, Oklahoma Christian: Threw for 387 yards and five touchdowns, recovering from three early interceptions to lead OCS to its first state title in its sixth finals appearance, 44-41 over second-ranked Davis.
Jackson Dillon, Ringling: The 6-foot-6, 210-pound senior had 155 total yards, including 133 rushing and two touchdowns, while also causing havoc from his outside linebacker position in a 39-12 win over No. 1 Wynnewood.
Braden Stringer, Blanchard: The running back needed only nine carries to produce 101 yards — better than 11 yards per carry — and two touchdowns, including a 57-yarder that sealed the 28-21 win over No. 1 Kingfisher.
