ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Albuquerque struck early on the way to a 12-2 victory over Oklahoma City at Isotopes Park on Tuesday afternoon.
RedHawks starter Jordan Lyles (1-2) gave up five runs and eight hits in the first inning, and after a 45-pitch first inning did not return for the second inning.
Angel Castro (2-1) got the win for Albuquerque, allowing only one run and five hits over six innings.
Jimmy Paredes scored both of Oklahoma City's runs, hitting a solo home run in the fifth and scoring on an error in the seventh.
After winning the first two games of the series with the Isotopes, the RedHawks dropped the next two, making it the first time this season OKC has suffered consecutive road losses. The RedHawks were outscored 20-3 in the last two games.
After a day off Wednesday, the RedHawks begin an eight-game homestand at 7:05 p.m. Thursday against New Orleans.
