Not all men are gentlemen

The broadcast media have run amok in word usage. I once heard Katie Couric interviewing police about a mass murderer refer to the killer five times as “the gentleman.” This past week, each network that I listened to, including local stations, had some reporter who referred to the second Boston bomber as “the gentleman.” What ever happened to using “man”? It doesn't sit well with me when they refer to a criminal as a gentleman. But then my parents were never educated in political correctness. They would not have referred to Bonnie and Clyde as that “lady and gentleman.”
