Identical twins and stand-up comedians Randy and Jason Sklar host the new series “United Stats of America” premiering at 9 p.m., Tuesday, May 8, on History.

The wisecracking brothers with an obsession with numbers and an amazing knack for finding the incredible stories behind the stats reveal the stories behind the most interesting and surprising statistics in American history, according to a news release.

Upcoming episodes center on stats that help us understand how much money we make and what we buy with it; how long we will live and how we will die; what we do with our free time and how to create more of it; and much more.

In one episode, the Sklars find statistics that explain that the animal most likely to kill you is a deer – not a snake or a shark.

In another episode, viewers are shown that Americans waste 4.2 billion hours a year stuck in traffic, and that in a country with over 3.5 million square miles of territory, 99 percent of us are crowded into only eight percent of the land.

“United Stats of America” is produced for History by Left/Right, while executive producers for Left/Right are Ken Druckerman and Banks Tarver. Dirk Hoogstra, Paul Cabana and John Verhoff are executive producers for History.
