The Tahlequah Daily Press reports that two of Brooke's colored pencil pieces, “The Artist” and “Skate, recently were named first- and fourth-place winners, respectively, in the Congressional Art Competition.
As a result, “The Artist” will hang in the U.S. Capitol Complex for a year.
She told the newspaper: “It is amazing to be chosen. It’s really nice to be recognized for my work; it’s really encouraging.”
