Five new dramas on The CW’s 2012-13 primetime schedule

“The Carrie Diaries,” “Emily Owens, M.D.,” “Arrow,” “Beauty and the Beast” and “Cult” have been picked up by The CW for its 2012-13 primetime season, according to a news release today.

“The Carrie Diaries,” debuting in January, features AnnaSophia Robb as the iconic character Carrie Bradshaw as she grows up in the 1980s and “Emily Owens, M.D.,” stars Mamie Gummer as a surgical intern who finds that working in a hospital feels dishearteningly like being in high school.

Stephen Amell portrays the lead in “Arrow,” a series about the DC Comics character of the same name, and “Beauty and the Beast” features Kristin Kreuk as a homicide detective and Jay Ryan as a doctor with a very dark side.

“Cult,” which premieres midseason with a date and time to be announced later, stars Matt Davis as a journalist searching for his brother, who disappeared after becoming obsessed with a hit television show about a sinister cult leader.

The CW 2012-13 primetime lineup is as follows:

MONDAY

7 p.m.              “90210″ (new night)

8 p.m.              “Gossip Girl” (new time)

(“The Carrie Diaries” premieres  at 8 p.m. January 2013)

TUESDAY

7 p.m.              “Hart of Dixie” (new night)

8 p.m.              “Emily Owens, M.D.” (new series)

WEDNESDAY

7 p.m.              “Arrow” (new series)
