The new A&E scripted drama series “Longmire” set ratings records for the network with its debut at 9 p.m. Sunday, June 3, making it A&E’s most watched original series launch of all time with 4.1 million total viewers, and it was cable’s top new scripted drama of 2012 among total viewers and adults 25-54 with 1.4 million in the demo watching, according to a news release.

The third season premiere of the original scripted drama “The Glades” drew solid numbers as well with its return at 8 p.m., posting double-digit gains in all key demos compared to its second season averages, pulling in 3.1 million total viewers (up 19%), 1.4 million adults 25-54 (up 27%) and 1.1 million adults 18-49 (up 17%) in information provided by A&E.

Season three of “The Glades” opened with Jim (Matt Passmore) and Carlos (Carlos Gomez) investigating the death of a millionaire who bequeathed all his wealth to an organization of UFO enthusiasts and the organizations’ leader accusing police of covering up the true cause of death: an alien abduction; while at the same time,  Jim and Callie’s (Kiele Sanchez) relationship has heated up, but Callie’s job search to enable her to stay in Palm Glade is not so sizzling.
