As part of the Hallmark Channel’s “Countdown to Father’s Day ” Weekend Event, “Operation Cupcake” makes its premiere at 7 p.m. Saturday, June 16 on the network.

The Hallmark Channel Original Movie stars Dean Cain (“Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman”) as part-time Army dad Col. Griff Carson and Kristy Swanson (“A Christmas Wish”) as his wife Janet.

When Griff comes home on a two-month leave, he is considering retiring from military service if he doesn’t get promoted to General.

Griff has been away from his family quite a bit while being deployed over the years and he’s feeling like an outcast in his own family now.

Janet is extra busy with opening her second cupcake shop, his 16-year-old daughter Kim (Galadriel Stineman, “The Middle”) is dating, and his son Ollie (Alec Gray, “True Blood”) rejects his assistance when he tries to help him improve his baseball prowess on the little league field.

Griff is also suspicious of Janet’s business partner, Thad (Ryan Bittle, “All My Children”), as the pair spends so much time together working on preparations for opening the new shop.
