The Bible App by YouVersion has been named the official companion app of “The Bible” series from Roma Downey and Mark Burnett, debuting March 3 on HISTORY.

“We’re honored to be working with Roma and Mark in drawing attention to this brilliant and engaging series. It’s the greatest visualization of the Bible we’ve ever seen, and I believe it will help millions of people engage with the Bible,” the app’s creator, Bobby Gruenewald said in a news release. Gruenewald is pastor at LifeChurch.tv in Edmond.

The YouVersion community will soon have the opportunity to access video content from the series directly in the app.

“Our prayer has always been that the dramatization of these stories will drive viewers to go to the Bible itself and drink in the actual text, because it is a book that changes lives,” said Downey, who co-executive produced the series with her husband and also plays the role of Jesus’ mother, Mary. “We are thrilled to provide millions of people with an easy way to do so with YouVersion.”

Information on the Bible App and “The Bible” series, provided in the news release, is as follows:

The Bible App offers over 400 versions of the Bible in over 200 languages. Users can access tools like bookmarks, notes, highlights, hundreds of reading plans, and more.  Everything you add is automatically synced across any device you use. Content can also be accessed via computer at bible.com.
