“Covert Affairs”: Transition plentiful in third season opener

“Covert Affairs” is back for its third season Tuesday, July 10, and the title of the first episode is appropriate for the show and for fans: ” Hang on to Yourself.”

Change abounds in the Season Three opener, but a couple of elements remain the same – Annie (Piper Perabo) keeps progressing in her skills as an expert CIA operative (she may even be going too far) and exotic international locales continue to be featured as backdrops to her adventures.

The new developments in the show are beguiling and create some fresh directions for the story lines to go, and I’m looking forward to seeing where they take the show as the third season continues.

Christopher Gorham, Anne Dudek, Peter Gallagher, Kari Matchett and Sendhil Ramamurthy are also among the cast of “Covert Affairs.”

“Covert Affairs” returns at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 10, on the USA Network.
