“The Walking Dead” Season 3 premieres Oct. 14

The premiere of the 16-episode third season of “The Walking Dead” at 8 p.m. Sunday, Oct 14 was announced today by AMC from Comic-Con 2012 in San Diego.

Season Three will also air in two parts, with the first eight hours launching Oct. 14 and returning Feb. 2013 for the final eight episodes, according to a news release.

Following “The Walking Dead” will be the season premiere of “Talking Dead,” hosted by Chris Hardwick at 10 p.m. and “Comic Book Men” at 10:30 p.m.

The second seasons of both series are made up of 16 half-hour episodes.

Internationally, “The Walking Dead” will return in 120+ FOX International Channels (FIC)  markets the week of Oct. 15.
