Animal Planet has added a new series to its lineup: “Off The Hook: Extreme Catches,” hosted by professional wrestler Showtime Eric Young.

Each half-hour episode follows Young as he travels across the country to try his hand at various fishing practices, according to a news release.

For its first two weeks, beginning at 8 p.m. July 30, “Off The Hook: Extreme Catches” airs on Mondays on Discovery Channel and will be followed by repeat episodes airing at 8 p.m. on Sundays on Animal Planet. After these first two promotional weeks, new episodes regularly begin airing at 8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, only on Animal Planet.

Fishing methods covered on the series include paddleboarding, jet ski fishing for sharks, underwater spear fishing and nighttime squid jigging, and the locations visited include New England, North Carolina, Florida and California.

During each episode, Young meets two experts who assist him in these fishing adventures.

“As an adrenaline junkie, when I come home after a hard day’s work, I like to kick back and enjoy some fishing,” Young said in the news release.  “But in “Off the Hook,” this is hardly relaxing because I’m setting out to do some of the world’s wildest, craziest fishing techniques.  But I’m up for trying anything once!”
