Details on “Tom Dick & Harriet,” provided by Hallmark Channel, are as follows:
Veteran actor Steven Weber stars in the fun, quirky romantic comedy “Tom Dick & Harriet.” Weber portrays Tom Burns, a gifted but straight-arrow advertising copywriter who loses his job because he is no longer considered young and hip. So Tom hatches a crazy scheme: He could craft the same great stuff that he used to as long as no one knew he was the one behind it. To make that happen, he hires a young con artist named Dick Sweeney (Andrew Francis, “Debbie Macomber’s Trading Christmas”), who serves as the perfect front to present Tom’s material at the ad agency that dumped him, Rage. Everyone is conned by Tom and Dick’s perfect scam even the CEO, Reese (Michael Eklund, “The Day”). And the creative director, Derek (Hamza Adam, “Earth’s Final Hours”). And the art director, Harriet (Michelle Harrison, “Emily Owens, M.D.”). In fact, everything is going so well with this scheme that it seems like it will last forever. Dick, with Tom backing him, rises to the level of agency superstar in nothing flat and now gets to work on the Super Bowl campaign for a new client. And then, wouldn’t you know, love intervenes. Tom and Harriet suddenly forge a romance, which helps inspire Tom to repair his fractured relationship with daughter Kelly (MacKenzie Porter, “Seattle Superstorm”). As happens so often in life, relationships can make you re-examine everything, including the fact you may be living a lie. The question becomes whether Tom can go on living with himself while scheming the world, and Harriet. Even Dick starts to think about changing his ways when he falls for Kelly. Suddenly, the guys start thinking about the toll of their deception. Success and wealth aren’t enough to keep our heroes satisfied in “Tom Dick & Harriet.”
