What do you get when you mix the mafia world with the medical world and throw in a sharp, gutsy female top surgical resident at Chicago’s Roosevelt Medical Center in the middle?

The new Fox drama series “The Mob Doctor,” which stars Jordana Spiro as Dr. Grace Devlin.

Grace has grown up around Chicago’s Southside mob, and although she’s tried to break away from that world, she makes a deal with this group to work secretly for them in order to pay off her brother’s gambling debt – and save his life.

As she keeps this side of her life from those around her, including her best friend, Nurse Rosa “Ro” Quintero” (Floriana Lima); her boyfriend and co-worker Dr. Brett Robinson (Zach Gilford); her boss at Roosevelt Medical and Chief of Surgery Dr. Stafford White (Željko Ivanek);  and her rival Dr. Olivia Wilcox (Jaime Lee Kirchner), Grace is simultaneously faced with tense situations involving her work at the hospital and the demands from the mafia for her medical assistance.
