As a longtime “Dexter” fan, I was less than thrilled with last season’s finale involving Dexter’s (Michael C. Hall) sister Deb (Jennifer Carpenter) catching him in the act of his secret serial-killing ways.

The most appealing aspect of the series to me was that blood-spatter-analyst-by-day/serial-killer-with a-code-by-night Dexter’s hidden life was exactly that – hidden.

Especially from his sister and co-worker Deb, who is not only a police lieutenant, but also is someone who basically has Dexter alone to count on in her life.

In addition, at the end of last season, Deb was seeing a counselor and was beginning to realize she has romantic feelings for Dexter.
