The ABC Family drama “Pretty Little Liars” has been picked up for a fourth season, according to a news release.

Twenty-four one-hour episodes will make up Season Four, which will begin airing mid-2013.

A special Halloween-themed episode of “Pretty Little Liars”‘ is scheduled to air at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 23, and then Season Three resumes in January 2013.

“Pretty Little Liars” is produced by Alloy Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television and is executive produced by I. Marlene King, Oliver Goldstick, Joseph Dougherty and Leslie Morgenstein. The series stars Troian Bellisario, Ashley Benson, Tyler Blackburn, Holly Marie Combs, Lucy Hale, Ian Harding, Laura Leighton, Chad Lowe, Janel Parrish, Shay Mitchell and Sasha Pieterse.
