Fellow former “ER” star Maura Tierney joins Julianna Margulies on “The Good Wife” in this week’s episode titled “And The Law Won,” airing at 8:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 7 on CBS.

Tierney guest stars as wealthy businesswoman Maddie Hayward, who specifically requests Alicia (Margulies) to contact her when approached by Diane (Christine Baranski) to renegotiate the firm’s lease.

This contact leads to an unexpected development for Peter’s (Chris Noth) campaign.

Meanwhile, Will (Josh Charles) is trying his first case after the end of his suspension, and, hoping to assist the financially strapped firm, refuses a low settlement offer right off the bat.

The firm’s appointed trustee, Clarke Hayden,(Nathan Lane) begins staff layoffs and seems to be particularly interested in Alicia’s views on the employees he’s considering to let go.

In addition, the bizarreness continues between Kalinda (Archie Panjabi) and Nick (Marc Warren).

It’s great to see Will back in action in the courtoom and the interaction between Maddie and Alicia, as well as Clarke and Alicia, is intriguing, and I think it’ll be interesting to see what develops with these plot lines.

As an “ER” fan, it’s marvelous to see Tierney guest starring on “The Good Wife,” also.
