The Hallmark Channel Original Movie “Help for the Holidays,” starring Summer Glau, Eva La Rue, Dan Gauthier, Oklahoma City native Mason Cook and Izabela Vidovic, debuts at 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 9.
A summary of the film, provided by Hallmark Channel, is as follows:
Although she loves Christmas, Santa’s elf Christine (Summer Glau, “Terminator: The Sarah Conor Chronicles”) wonders if there could be more to life than making toys in the North Pole. When Santa receives an emergency wish from a little boy in Los Angeles, he puts Christine on a special assignment, sending her to L.A. to give the VanCamp family—mom Sara (Eva La Rue, “CSI: Miami), dad Scott (Dan Gauthier, “One Life to Live”), and their two kids Ally (Izabela Vidovic, “Christmas Angel) and Will (Mason Cook, “Spy Kids: All the Time in the World”)—a holiday wake-up call. While Sara and Scott run their booming holiday store, Will and Ally are often left unsupervised. The kids long for a true family Christmas, with a tree and lights of their own instead of the holiday leftovers from their parents’ store. Christine quickly interviews to be the kids’ new nanny, hoping to secretly transform their sad Christmas spirit into a loving family celebration. Christine thinks she has it all under control and might even be falling in love. But when Sara suspects her new nanny is interfering too much, she threatens to end Christine’s stay in L.A. Will Christine fail her assignment and be sent back to the North Pole for good, or will the VanCamps come to their senses about the meaning of Christmas.
