“Christmas with Holly” is light holiday entertainment

The Hallmark Hall of Fame movie “Christmas with Holly” centers on three people heading down new paths in life.

Maggie Conway (Eloise Mumford,”The River”) has moved from Seattle to Friday Harbor in Washington State in order to follow her dream of opening a toy store after her fiance abandoned her at the altar.

Mark Nagle,(Sean Faris,”The Vampire Diaries”), the owner of the local coffee shop, has embraced taking over guardianship of his deceased sister’s six-year-old daughter, Holly (Lucy and Josie Gallina).

Mark has also moved in with his two older brothers to help raise Holly. She hasn’t spoken since her mother passed away, but she is bonding with Mark and her uncles.

After a chance meeting, Maggie and Mark strike up a friendship. Holly is enamored with Maggie’s toy shop, especially a toy house, which according to Maggie, has a magical occupant. This forges a special connection between Maggie and Holly.

Although Mark is dating Shelby (Alex Paxton-Beesley, “The Firm”), they’re in different places in the relationship – and since Mark has met Maggie they seem to be headed even further apart.

“Christmas with Holly” is a subtle yet touching movie, and Faris and Mumford are charming and genuine.
