“Royal Pains”: “Off-Season Greetings” movie engaging

As the “Royal Pains” two-hour movie special “Off-Season Greetings” begins, Evan (Paulo Costanzo) and Paige (Brooke D’Orsay) are in the final preparation stages of their wedding and Hank (Mark Feuerstein) is dealing with health issues resulting from the explosion he was exposed to in the show’s summer finale.

“Royal Pains” fans will learn plenty about the pasts of Hank and Evan through flashbacks in this special, including info on Hank’s first love, and Paige encounters a plethora of events that threaten to ruin her dream wedding.

An unscheduled bachelor party for Evan in Las Vegas is featured, and Paige and Divya (Reshma Shetty) are factored into this in a surprising way.

And, although Jill (Jill Flint) had previously moved to Africa to work in a clinic, she manages to appear in this special, which is mostly set in the Hamptons in the wintertime, a first for the series.
