NORMAN — Oklahoma’s marquee, Sept. 28 game at Notre Dame has been scheduled for a 2:30 p.m. kickoff, the OU athletic department announced Wednesday via Twitter.
The game — OU’s fourth in its 2013 campaign — will be televised nationally by NBC. The Sooners open the season with home games against Louisiana-Monroe, West Virginia and Tulsa on Aug. 31, Sept. 7 and Sept. 14, respectively, then get a bye week before the trip to Notre Dame.
The Sooners are 1-9 all-time against the Irish, losing 30-13 at home last season. Notre Dame’s victory in Norman ultimately helped propel it to the national championship game, where Alabama routed the Irish. Oklahoma’s trip to South Bend, Ind., is its first since 1999, Bob Stoops’ first season as the Sooners’ coach. Notre Dame rallied to beat OU 34-30 in that game.
