NORMAN — Bigfoot Creative art gallery, 315 E Main St., will stage a “live paint” Thursday to help kick off the Norman Music Festival.
The festival opens Thursday and continues through Saturday in downtown Norman. More than 200 bands will appear on 22 stages during the festival, with most of the performances Thursday and Friday scheduled indoors at downtown clubs. The venue moves to outdoor stages Saturday, with shows beginning around noon and continuing until 2 a.m.
To help kick off the festival Thursday, four artists will paint original pieces of artwork live for an audience between 7 and 9 p.m. in the Bigfoot Creative gallery.
Featured artists will be Marwin Begaye, Hoka Skenandore, Rawb Carter and Tom Farris. All are award-winning artists who have produced works in individual and museum collections across the United States.
Each artist will be provided a blank canvas and have two hours to produce a finished piece. The finished works will be available for purchase at the end of the evening.
Jeremy Gragg will provide live music during the two-hour paint.
