Oklahoma scene: RedHawks open homestand Thursday vs. New Orleans

The eight-game homestand includes four games vs. Zephyrs and four against Nashville.

The Oklahoma City RedHawks return to Chickasaw Bricktown Ballpark on Thursday to begin an eight game homestand — four games against the New Orleans Zephyrs and four against the Nashville Sounds.

Game time Thursday night is 7:05.

The RedHawks (10-9) are on a two-game skid after splitting a four-game series at Albuquerque. Tickets are available at the Brick's box office.


Top-seeded Texas held off Oklahoma State over the final nine holes Wednesday and won the Big 12 Men's Golf Championships at Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Kan. The Longhorns finished four strokes ahead of OSU and 10 shots in front of third-place Oklahoma. The nine-team field had six teams ranked in the Golfweek/Sagarin top 50.

Texas' Brandon Stone was medalist. The freshman finished with a three-round, even-par 210, which was three strokes better than OSU's Talor Gooch. Abraham Ancer was OU's best finisher, tying for third place at 215.


Oklahoma Baptist will host St. Gregory's in the annual Strikeout Cancer softball game at 5 p.m. Thursday in Shawnee. OBU players will wear pink jerseys, which will be put on silent auction during the game. Shawnee merchants have also donated several items for door prizes.
