The honeymoon is over for an Oklahoma City couple who wed two weeks ago. The wife was jailed Sunday after she tried to stab her husband, police report.

Leigh Ann Hamby, 32, was arrested on complaints of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and violation of the Domestic Abuse Act.

Police were called about 3:15 p.m. Sunday to the 6800 block of Decon Avenue, where a 27-year-old man said his wife of two weeks tried to stab him with a knife, according to the police report.

The man said he called his wife while on his way home and she started yelling at him. When he walked into their apartment, she began to punch and slap him in the face, according to the report.

The man went to his closet to grab some clothes when he saw his wife coming at him with a knife. He grabbed the knife from her and was cut in the process, according to the report.

While the officer was handcuffing the woman, her 8-year-old daughter came down the stairs and kicked the officer's head, according to the report.

Hamby was treated at a hospital for injuries and then was taken to the Oklahoma County jail. Her bail has not been set yet, jail officials said Monday afternoon.
