Edmond Memorial scored on the sixth penalty kick of a shootout to defeat Edmond Santa Fe, 2-1.

The game was tied 1-1 at the end of regulation and neither team scored in two overtime periods.

Santa Fe, 10-4, had defeated Memorial 1-0 in a shootout in the regular season.

“It's tough to go out in the first round,” said Santa Fe coach Joe Peeler.

ZEPEDA'S BIG GAME LIFTS WESTERN HEIGHTS

Western Heights' Cesar Zepeda scored six goals as the Jets routed Guymon 8-0 in the 5A playoffs.

Western Heights (13-0) plays the winner of Chickasha and Northwest Classen on Friday.

Robert Owusu and Brian Garay each added a goal for the Jets, who led 3-0 after one half.

HERITAGE HALL REMAINS UNDEFEATED

The Heritage Hall duo of Austin Gordon and Connor McGinnis proved too much for El Reno in the opening round of the Class 5A boys soccer playoffs on Tuesday in a 9-1 victory.

The duo combined for five goals, with McGinnis recording three of them, as Heritage Hall continued its impressive offensive output this season. The Chargers have now outscored their opponents 84-8 this season.

The win moves the Chargers to 14-0 on the season and sets up a matchup with the winner of Capitol Hill and Lawton MacArthur in Friday's quarterfinals.

BETHANY EDGES CACHE

Bethany went on the road and delivered a strong performance to advance in the Class 4A playoffs.

Junior Michael Ross scored two goals in the first half, and that's all the Bronchos needed in a 2-1 victory at Cache.

Bethany (10-5) was also aided by a stellar performance from senior keeper Colin Spencer, who recorded eight saves.
