EDMOND – A city street downtown will be closed for about 90 minutes for a funeral procession Friday for a firefighter who died, city officials report.

Northbound and southbound lanes of Boulevard will be closed from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. Friday between 2nd Street and Danforth Road.

The street is being closed for a funeral procession to honor fire Capt. John Werhun, a 19 year veteran of the Edmond Fire Department who died Saturday, April 27, following a five year battle with cancer.

Residents who live along Boulevard should use adjacent side streets during this time, city officials report.
