Who/what/where/why: Scott Spradling and his wife, Suzanne, were honorees at the Oklahoma City Golf and Country Club's President's Ball at the country club. He is the incoming president of the board of directors. Other officers who were introduced at the event were Jim Hazelwood Jr., vice president; Dudley Hyde, secretary, and Carl Edwards, treasurer, and Bud Beeler, Jay T. Edwards, Susan Parker, Robert Clements, Mike Nordin, John McCaleb, Gary Homsey, John Waldo and Chuck Ainsworth, directors.
How: A string quartet and a pianist played during dinner and Groove Merchants played for dancing. Lamb chops and petite filet of beef were on the menu and desserts, served in the Great Hall, included homemade ice cream and sorbets, mini-cupcakes, a doughnut table and a chocolate table. Lanterns, flowers and greenery decorated the entryway, the Great Hall and the Regency Room.
LINENS AND LACE
Occasion: Alexis Hefner was the honoree at a bed, bath and boudoir shower in the home of Rhonda Bratton. Co-hostesses were Susan Citty, Ryan McNitt, Iman Berglan and Gabrielle Hefner.
Highlights: Guests were greeted at the door with mimosa drinks. Vases were filled with lavender and purple tulips and purple hydrangeas with baby's breath and were set on tables throughout the home. Lavender and white lace cookies and chicken salad croissants were served.
Gifts: The bride-to-be received linens for her new home, trousseau gifts and personal gifts, including a jeweled wedding garter.

CELEBRATE THE STAR
Party: Jane Jayroe Gamble and Gerald Gamble were hosts for a party honoring opera singer Demetra George (also known as Debbie Giannopoulos Mustafoglu) who was in town for the Putnam City Schools Foundation banquet where she was named 2013 Wall of Fame honoree. She and her husband, Mike Mustafoglu, live in Los Angeles and Cyprus. In Los Angeles, they hosted Oklahoma City University friends who were there for the Rose Parade for the Centennial Celebration several years ago. The opera star grew up in Oklahoma City and attended OCU.

CLASSEN CLASS OF 1948
Brunch: Bill Lockard was host for a brunch for the 65-year reunion of Classen High School. A banner in the front yard welcomed the graduates, and 70 class members attended. School colors of blue and gold were used in the decorations as well as the school comet symbol.
The night before: On the first night of the reunion, the group had dinner at Quail Creek Golf and Country Club where entertainment featured Jane Hall and Virginia Campbell.
Committee: Reunion committee members were Jim Cole, class president; Jim Gonders, event chairman; Joann Lawrence, treasurer; Sue Gabe, calling committee, and Cecilia Cole, brunch chairman.
Open house: deadCENTER Film Festival staff members have moved offices to 726 W Sheridan on Film Row in the Hart Building. An open house was held to celebrate the move.
Luncheon: Two University of Oklahoma College of Law alumni serving and making history on Oklahoma's highest courts were honored at a luncheon at Devon Tower. Tom Colbert was sworn in Jan. 4 as the first African-American chief justice of the Oklahoma Supreme Court. On Jan. 23, David B. Lewis was sworn in as the first African-American presiding judge of the Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals.

What: Tina and Tim Ridley were backstage at the John Golden Theater with actor David Hyde Pierce following the preview performance of his latest Broadway hit “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike.” The comedy co-stars Sigourney Weaver.
