— A 104-year-old building downtown that housed several businesses went up in flames early Tuesday.

Firefighters arrived at the building at 2 SW 3 St. about 5 a.m. to find fire shooting from the roof and from several windows.

Fire Capt. Larry Steverson said the main body of the fire was in Grady's Pub and Grille.

Crews from Mustang and Oklahoma City were called in to assist. The fire was extinguished about 10 a.m.

Most of the fire damage was contained to the second floor, but every business has heavy water and smoke damage, Steverson said. He said the air-conditioning unit and the kitchen of the pub were the first to catch fire.

Agents from the state fire marshal's office are investigating the cause.

The building contained nine businesses, including two engineering firms on the second floor and nutrition store on the first floor that had been open only one week.

Because of extensive damage to the wooden frame, the building may be a total loss.
