The names of four Oklahoma City police officers involved in a shoot-out with a homicide suspect late Monday have been released.
The officers were called to the Executive Inn, 3501 S Interstate 35 Service Road, where the suspect and officers exchanged gunfire.
Officers suffered minor injuries from flying debris and were treated and released from a hospital, police said.
Keenan Lamar Leake, 24, was arrested on a warrant in a December double homicide at the Pulse Events Center, which is near Northwest Expressway and Wilshire Boulevard.
Capt. Dexter Nelson said the officers involved in Monday's incident were Lt. Juan A. Balderrama, a gang unit supervisor with 14 years experience, and gang unit officers Sgt. Andrew Waldon, Sgt. Monte Stephens and Sgt. John Townsend.
The officers went to the motel looking for Leake, who was wanted in the Dec. 2 deaths of two men who were shot with an assault rifle.
Uniformed gang officers found Leake in an upstairs motel room and identified themselves as police officers.
Leake fired at the officers from his room with a stolen semi-automatic pistol, Nelson said.
Three officers returned fire as they took cover. Leake was taken into custody without injury and no one was hit by bullets, Nelson said.
Nicholas Duwayne Sweet, 32, and Raymond Huddleston, 34, were shot and killed about 2:40 a.m. Dec. 2 in the events center parking lot after a private party, police reported in December.
