TULSA — Piedmont's Colton Cowan has had better days at the state golf tournament, but his performance in the third and final round of the Class 5A tournament at Tulsa Country Club was his most special.
Cowan shot a final-round 74, four strokes better than his best round Monday, to move into the top 10.
“It was awesome,” Cowan said. “Not many people get to qualify for the state tournament for four years.”
Cowan and his twin brother, Cameron, made the state tournament in each of their four years at Piedmont. Cameron's best round of the tournament was an 81 in the second round.
Colton plans to play college golf at Southwestern Christian in Bethany, while Cameron will likely forego golf to attend Southwestern Oklahoma State.
