NORMAN — Therapy dogs were brought in to calm University of Oklahoma students facing finals this week.
Dogs and their handlers with A New Leash on Life visited the OU library and College of Law to offer students respite from books, tests and worries. The certified therapy dogs — identified by red bandannas — were available for hugs and petting, providing a bit of relaxation in between the more serious task of cracking the books.
OU's commencement is set for 7 p.m. Friday at Gaylord Family — Oklahoma Memorial Stadium, 180 W Brooks St. Undergraduate convocation ceremonies and receptions take place Saturday. In case of inclement weather, the commencement will move to the Lloyd Noble Center, 2900 S Jenkins Ave.
This year's commencement speaker is Fareed Zakaria, who serves as editor-at-large of Time magazine and as a Washington Post columnist.
