STILLWATER — Oklahoma already won the Big 12 softball championship.

All that was left to accomplish — for now — was sweep Oklahoma State. That's just what the No. 1-ranked Sooners did Sunday and it made coach Patty Gasso very happy.

“We talked about the importance of ‘How are you going to use this game?'” Gasso said. “It's to catapult us into the postseason, so really work hard in your at bats, work to get what you want.”

Oklahoma beat Oklahoma State 5-0 on just six hits. OU pitcher Keilani Ricketts ended her regular season the way she opened it, by throwing a no-hitter. The no-no was a school-record fifth of the season and sixth of her career.

Lauren Chamberlin hit two, two-run homer, making it her 12th career multi-home run game and fourth of the season.

Oh, and in the seventh inning, Shelby Pendley hit the Sooners' first triple of the season.

“Was it?” Gasso said of Pendley's hit. “When I saw it, I was waving my arm and I was like ‘Come on!'”

Ricketts was unaware of her no-hitter until she looked at the scoreboard in the fifth inning.

“Honestly, I feel like there should have been about five hits they could have gotten,” Ricketts said, “but my defense really stayed focused today. They helped me out with getting it.”
