Oklahoma is now home to the 2013 Big 12 Champions, Big 12 Coach of the Year, Big 12 Pitcher of the Year and Big 12 Player of the Year.

After winning the Big 12 title on Saturday, the conference announced Tuesday that Patty Gasso, Keilani Ricketts and Shelby Pendley were honored as the coach, pitcher and player of the year, respectively.

The Big 12 title was Oklahoma’s 10th. The Coach of the Year award is Gasso’s second. She also won it last year. The Player of the Year trophy stays at Oklahoma as well. Ricketts won it last year.

Pendley, who is in her first year with the Sooners after transferring from Arizona, is the eighth Oklahoma player to take home the POY honor.

It’s the first time since 2002 that the Sooners have swept the awards.

The Sooners also placed 11 players on All-Big 12 teams, including five on the First Team, two on the Second Team and four on the inaugural Defensive Team.

Senior outfielder Brianna Turang, junior outfielder Destinee Martinez and sophomore infielder Lauren Chamberlain were named to the First Team, along with Ricketts and Pendley. Senior pitcher Michelle Gascoigne and sophomore Georgia Casey grabbed Second Team honors.

The All-Big 12 Defensive team was made up of senior catcher Jessica Shults as well as Ricketts, Turang and Casey.

The postseason conference honors were voted on by Big 12 head coaches who were not allowed to vote for their own players.
