It’s not yet August, and though the hot summer temperatures in Oklahoma have cooled a bit (we know it won’t last long), the fashion world is already thinking about cool weather clothes.

Seattle-based Nordstrom recently premiered its Designer Preview show. Here are five style tips, according to Seattle Style Examiner, straight from the runway:

Gray is the new black. While black will always be in style, your new go-to dark neutral this fall is grey. Marni, Nina Ricci and Dries Van Noten showed stunning, sophisticated layered hues of charcoal and slate grey.

Purple reigns. If you thought purple was so last year, you’re wrong. Gucci, Stella McCartney, Nini Ricci and Versace all showed delicious hues of purple and plum.

Wild about leopard. There’s something surprisingly classic about leopard print, and both Oscar de la Renta and Dolce & Gabbana reinvented the classic and gave it a little kick (with sparkle!).

Fuchsia is the “it” color. Versace, Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors and Oscar de la Renta presented show-stopping fuchsia numbers. The vibrant color will, without a doubt, look just as stunning on the streets of Seattle as it did on the runway.

Metallics shine brightly. With the exception of fuchsia, fall’s color palette is deep and dark. Luckily, silver and gold shine brightly and provide some much needed glam this fall.
